You have to collect and organise information as possible to support your visitor visa application. if your documents are not in english you must translate to english by help of approved translators.
Australian visa officers may take visa decsion without requesting further documents or information from you, so its important to fill all inforamtion aqurate with all supportive documents to understand your file.
Identity documents
Submit your current passport showing your photo, personal details and passport issue and expiry dates. if you have old passport better submit that too if it showing any previous travel history .
Also provide:
- a national identity document ( if you have )
- proof of change of name, if applicable, such as:
- a marriage or divorce certificate
- change of name documents from an Australian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, or the relevant overseas authority
- documents that show other names you have been known by.
- Provide as much proof as you can to show you are visiting Australia as a temporary visitor only. This could include:
- proof you have enough money for your stay and to leave Australia, such as:
- 3 month bank statements
- pay slips
- audited accounts
- Income tax return documents
- Fixed deposits
- credit card statements
- a letter from your relative or friend in Australia, inviting you to visit. The letter could state:
- relationship bitween you and inviter
- the purpose of your australian visit and dutation of stay
- if you will be staying with your relative show the proof
If this person will be paying for your stay, provide proof of their funds.
- your plans while in Australia
- proof that you have reasons to return home such as:
- a letter from your employer
- proof that you study at a school, college or university in your home country
- proof that you have immediate family members in your home country
- proof that you can return home
- proof that you own a house or other major assets in your home country
Business visitor documents
Tell the Visa officer what business visitor activities you plan to do in Australia. You can submit :
- an invitation from a host organisation
- conference registration details
- a letter from your employer stating why you are visiting
- your plans for your stay and details of your Australian business contacts
- proof of your current employment and professional qualifications
- evidence your company is an active business, such as an annual report
- evidence of prior contact with Australian businesses
Character documents
Provide any military service record or discharge papers, if applicable.
Australia visa officers may ask you to provide a police certificate.
Applicants requesting a longer visa must add Additional documental proof
If you are requesting a longer visa, tell in your application. This includes parents and step-parents of Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Provide details to the australian goverment with further information about the reason for your request.
For example, proof that your child is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
If the applicant is under 18 you need to submit Additional documents.
If you are under the age of 18, you must provide a copy of your birth certificate showing the names of both parents. If you can’t provide a birth certificate, provide any one of the following:
- Family book showing the names of both parents
- Identification document issued by the government
- court-issued document that proves your identity
- identification pages of a family census register
If somebody other than your biological parents has legal guardianship over you (for example, adoptive parents or a court-appointed guardian), you must provide proof of their legal guardianship.
Provide adoption papers or parental court orders, if applicable.
Anyone with a legal right to decide where you live, and who is not travelling in Australia with you, must complete either:
- Form 1229 – Consent form to grant an Australian visa to a child under the age of 18 years (276KB PDF)
- a statutory declaration giving their consent for the child to visit Australia on this visa
Include a document with the signature and photo of the person who completed, or declaration, such as a:
- passport
- driver’s licence
In addition to consent information, if you’re not staying with a relative or legal guardian, provide Form 1257 – Undertaking declaration (211KB PDF). The person you’re staying with must sign the form.

Provide original and translated documents in your application.
Translators in Australia must be accredited by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters.
Translators outside Australia do not have to be accredited. But on each translation, they must include their:
- full name
- address and telephone number
- qualifications and experience in the language they are translating
These details must be in English.
You do not need to have any documents certified unless visa officer ask you to.
Scan or photograph all documents
Scan or photograph all documents (English and non-English) in colour.
The scans and photos must be clear and legible.
If a document is more than one page, save it all as one file.
