- You can transit through Australia within 72 hrs.
- If you holding a Australia Maritime Crew visa (subclass 988) you can enter Australia by air before joining the crew of an eligible ship, within 5 days of your arrival.

You must
- When you apply you must be outside Australia
- When you passing through Australia with a transit visa you need to hold a confirmed air ticket or other travel arrangement to another country within 72 hrs from the time of your arrival in Australia. You must make sure you have a valid document for enter that country.
- If you are a Maritime Crew visa holder and came Australia with a transit visa for joining as a crew of an eligible ship you must sign on your ship within 5 days of your arrival.
